Referring to the door that separates the evap and heater core. Now the other door below that just controls vent setting like feet warmer and such, correct? Both doors are pretty rotted but still in tact. Know of any reputable auto stores that sell the aftermarket design? I'm thinking that my heater core and ac evap are sharing some air, giving me not so cool air and even cooler heat, Considering the test was at full opperating temp. Heat should been hotter. Heat gets hotter when compressor is off. Certain vent settings will turn compressor on even if heat is maxed out.
I had the same issue you did and had to break down and have the door done. The tech I was working with at the time was going to do the core since it was leaking, but when he started to get in there, I got the news...they are known to literally disintegrate. Nice thing is that it has worked for 7 years now.

As for my dual air and heat system, I have the Pro-Air system. As I think about it, there is one coolant supply line with a T that feeds the front and the rear...funny thing about the set up is that it has two control valves. Then the return has the same set up, less the control valves and in reverse.

The Pro-Air system's I have,is charged as I remember to almost 3 cans. It is the same as what you put it too. I just did my air last year - compressor, valve and condensor and it has worked pretty well - a solid B if I was to grade it. It isnt as kick *** as my 18 Colorado, but after a mile or so, it gets cold.
