Back up lights wiring - where?

Default Back up lights wiring - where?

Just a quick ? - where is the wiring for the backup lights. I have a camera I want to power it off of...

Ill start looking --- just wanted to see if anyone could help Thanks

Should just be one harness that runs to the rear. Start at the taillights, and work your way forward. Should be on the drivers side, I think..... and there will be a harness crossing over to the passenger side.

I don't know about your van but older Mopars used a switch on the transmission to turn on the revers lights. My old motorhome was a GMC and what I did with it was run a wire from one of the back up light bulbs to a relay. I then used the relay to power the camera and the video screen to watch when I backed up. This kept the draw on the bulb wiring down to avoid a fire.

Let us know what you find or if you found it. I plan on installing a new stereo with backup camera this weekend.

Thanks. At this point I'm just going to run it back to the tail lights. I'm pretty certain that the tail lights run under the chassis up to the neutral safety switch on the transmission. I already have all of my interior trim pieces and panels removed while I reupholster the headliner and add some sound dampening so it's easier to run a wire back there through the cabin than to figure out how to tie in closer to the neutral safety.

I found my service manual! Here is a pic of the wiring diagrams...I believe the wires run in the loom right next ot the frame rail
