Default Vaccum issue, No Max Ac in vent.

Me again! Lol. Trying to fix vac lines for vent control. This rigged job is temporary until I can make sure everything works. Anyway, every setting works except for max AC. SO before this broke, every setting used to work properly. Well I noticed the Max AC setting blows noticeably harder than the normal ac setting. My question is. Since I've repaired all of this, what would cause my max ac not to blow harder than normal setting? So like if I switch from Bi-level to normal it will have a noticeable difference in blow output from vents. But let's say now I go from normal setting to max ac setting, it used to open something that would blow even harder than normal. Now it's just blowing as hard as normal blows when it's supposed to blow noticeably harder. Any ideas as to why? Mind you the repair job is temporary until I can figure this out. Then I will tie it all up properly.

Max a/c closes the door for outside air, and recirculates the air already in the van. Verify the door is actually working.....

That makes perfect sense. I did disconnect the outside air door. Where the silver metal rod hooks on the door. I guess it should work when I reconnect it.

That's likely a very safe bet.

Sure did do the trick! Now the next thing to tackle is that stupid plenum! I'm excited to change it except the fact everyone says their bolts break off. That's making me procrastinate longer than I should.

Yeah, the four on the ends of the manifold are notorious for that. Mainly because the bottom of the bolt is in 'open air', so they get exposed to the environment, and corrode. They generally leave a fair bit sticking out though, and the trick is, clean out the base of the hole the bolt sticks into, so your penetrating fluid can actually penetrate..... grab the bolt with vice grips, tap the end of the bolt with a fair sized hammer, while trying to work it back and forth. Once it breaks loose, it'll come right out. I have done a couple of these, and the broken bolts just weren't a problem.
