Default Need to identify ABS part #

2000 b1500 5.2L.

So since I bought this van last year the ABS light and brake light come on when I start it and my ABS doesn't work. Cruise control also has mostly not worked (I thought it was a vacuum thing). Replacing the speed sensor on the diff didn't help.

So I had it at the mechanic for some routine stuff and asked him to take a look. He said that someone put the wrong ABS "chip?" in it and that affects the ABS and the cruise control. He doesn't know what the correct original part was so he doesn't have a part number and apparently was not able to get that info from Dodge. I apologize for the non-specific info as the guy is a friend of my dad's so I'm getting this information second hand through my dad. ABS control module maybe? The thing mounted under the driver's seat?

Does this make any sense?

2 or 4 wheel ABS?

Isn't the feller under the seat the seat belt module, or some such??

Not sure, for some reason I thought it was related to ABS.

Not 100% sure on 2 or 4 wheel ABS. I'm guessing 2. Here's what the build sheet says:

If the brake light is on, the then issue is with the brakes, not the ABS. Once the brake light turns on, the ABS is disabled because there is an issue with the brakes. Find and fix the issue with the brakes and both lights should go off.

Rear wheel antilock. I don't think there IS a control module for that, I think the PCM handles it all??? After all, its just a dump valve.

The module under the front seat is the airbag module. And in my case (as I recently discovered), a good catch for cigarette butts.

I believe there is, at least on the 97 to 2001 vans. Kelsey Hayes P/N 52009460.

Stolen from Ebay.

I can see mine down there and I'm tempted to pull it and check for any bad solder joints. I have no idea how I'm going to reach it though. Probably best to go from below but it didn't look like there was much access that way either. Different from other ABS modules I've seen in that it doesn't have solenoids. I'm a noobie to all of this though. I know my rear wheel speed sensor is fine as I have replaced it. Brake fluid is full. It's not the parking brake sensor.

I have no idea what the original mechanic was talking about and honestly, he's been wrong about enough other stuff that this thread is fairly pointless. At this point it seems most likely that my ABS module either has bad power, bad ground, or a bad solder joint. I can't connect to it with any scan tool I've tried yet.
