Default P0123 code....

1999 ram van 3500 5.9

So I was driving and lost all throttle response. It threw a P0123 code so naturally I changed the TPS and still having the same problems. The symptoms are a VERY rough idle, almost sputter out and dying and some backfiring whenever I lose the throttle response while on gear. The only code I'm getting is P0123 and my mechanic checked the voltage to the new sensor. It ranges from 0.9-3.4 from idle to under load. I'm at a loss....any ideas appreciated

Readings should range from .45 volts at idle to about 4.5 at wide-open throttle. A P0123 trouble code means that the PCM has recorded a reading from the TPS that exceeds the normal 4.5 volts for more than two seconds. A fault like this means that the sensor either has a short or has failed.

Even though I've already installed two new sensors and am getting the same code?

What brand? Don't use anything that is BWD. JUNK! Wouldn't hurt to reset the pcm, Disconnect the battery then turn the headlights on. Reconnect the battery and run the engine.

The issue could be with the wiring going to the sensor.
