Default Conflicting error codes.

Greetings.

'02 3500, 5.9.

I have different error codes showing up on two different PCM's.

One PCM displays a P1493 code, and the other displays a P0505 code.

What the hell could this possibly mean? The one with the P1493 code has no driveability issues, but the one with the P0505 code seems to have trouble operating the IAC motor (hence the code?). It doesn't stall, but sometimes it's slow to recover a bit after an RPM change.

Which PCM should I believe? Neither? Both? I REFUSE to pepper the problem with parts. I have enough things to spend money on without replacing parts that haven't been verified as actually being bad. Why are the PCM's not displaying the same code?

P0505 Idle Air Control Motor Circuits
Where did you get the pcm's? Are they programed for the vehicle?

Indeed, they are programmed for my vehicle. The van runs great with the exception of these 2 anomalies.

One is the stock PCM the van came with which was rebuilt by ACS. The other with the IAC code is from AutoZone.

If you clear the codes do they come back?

Absolutely. In fact, I can't get rid of them at all.

The P0505 is a driver problem in the PCM. That one needs to go back for warranty replacement. Unless you get both codes with either PCM??

Does anyone know what the resistance value is for the battery temperature sensor?

I checked continuity of both sensor wires to the PCM, and everything is fine there. I then checked the resistance value of the sensor itself, and the meter read 10 on the 20K Ohm scale. I can't find the specifications for this sensor anywhere, so I have no idea if that means it's alright.

It seems everyone and their cousin will sell me one..... but, no one seems to have any interest in telling me what the range is..... Maybe test a new one at the parts store? See how it compares to yours?
