It's probably the time delay relay for the ignition switch light etc. It's in a block under the glove box. I removed it and it made a difference, but not enough or it came back after removing it. It's been awhile.

Looks like I may have found the source of my parasitic draw. Unhooked the wires to the starter and had .09 ma draw so knew it was going to be good once everything settled down which ended up being .01ma. Man am I pumped. Got a new starter coming and I do mean new and if everything stays the same I can start putting the radio and dash back together again. Going to be nice having a normal operating vehicle for once.

I hate those problems but love when you find them

wanted to ask was your starter performance lagging? slow turning or slower than normal
or acting funny when it got really hot outside

Didn't notice any starter degradation from the heat, but it wasn't turning as fast as I thought it should be. I put it down to those cheap battery terminals with the strap that bolts down on the cables. I have the parts to take care of that issue and will be tackling that next. Need some crimpers to attach the lugs to the cable and there isn't alot of room to get back to the positive cables and not real crazy about removing them. The local Car Quest has a $500 dollar pair for their use, but since I have been a pretty good customer they are going to do the loaner program for me on those. Just hoping there is enough room to use them.

Well I ended up taking it to a stereo installation shop that had a hydraulic crimper and he crimped the 4 ends on and the thing spins like crazy now. The crimpers at the shop were too big to get back to where the positive cables were and actually be able to crimp with them. So glad to get rid of those cheap terminals that were not clamping things tight. Those clamping straps are way too thin to do the job and they just deform.

Took some scrap metal to a scrap yard I never knew about. Place was monstrous and they took pressure cylinders so I had to go there. Someone hauling scrap lost some of their load in my yard and the place I normally go wouldn't take the cylinder. Side benefit was I had to scale in and out so I know what the van weighs. Of course that depends on how accurate the scale is, but she checked out at 4580 after removing my weight and I just got scaled at the Dr's office so I knew how much to take off. Thinking of taking the exhaust out the side which will lose some more. Think it's ok for a van.
