I don’t think so. It definitely seems to be related to load. That is to say, when I push the pedal more than say 40%, it starts to bog and then runs out of fuel. I’ve noticed that if I keep the pedal at a steady 40%, the van will continue going, (albeit, slowly) if I’m going uphill, or against a strong headwind. it’s been exhausting because of that, but I don’t really see an alternative at the moment.
but I think if it were the computer, I don’t think it would be related to load on the engine at all. This definitely seems to coincide with the need for fuel delivery.

Success!! The problem was DEFINITELY the fuel sock on the fuel pump. (see pics)
because my van is a camper van with a high top, I had a really hard time finding a garage with a lift that could take the van. After trying about five different garages locally, and one garage actually giving it a try but said they were not comfortable lifting it because they had a hard time getting to lift points with propane lines, various tanks, etc., I finally decided to do it myself.
The problem with getting the gas tank out was that the filler neck connection to the fuel tank behind the black tank. I had to uninstall the black tank which was something I really didn't want to do because those tanks are extremely expensive and I didn't for sure that I could do it without breaking something. long story short, I got the black tank out and then easily dropped the fuel tank, put in the new pump, and everything is working correctly now!
So thrilled!

I had a similar situation in my Capri but the symptom was the loss of power was in all RPMs but it just ran slower and slower and slower LOL
I now always look in the tank when looking at other cars now after that...I should have known but our tanks are plastic...so the fuel sock usually doesnt get clogged...the steel tanks - oh yea...
