Default 93’ Dodge Ram B250 V6 3.9L • Fusible links blew and no spark.

Hi everyone,

Just got my first van and it drove home perfectly fine and was reported to have no issues.

Suddenly the van stalled one day and seemed to be electrical in nature as fuel pump continues to prime and was able to continue to crank but not turn over. Gas into the carb doesn’t get it to turn over as well as there is no spark.

After assessing, the ignition coil does not show any spark despite crankshaft position sensor being changed, ignition coil being replaced, new battery, new ECU, new distributor cap/rotor, spark plugs and spark plug wires, voltage regulator and neutral safety switch replaced.

Continued cranking led to fusible links issues with one blowing and another completely severing and complete shutdown to instrument cluster.

fusible links are now fixed and instrument cluster is back on and working but still only cranks with no spark.

After checking the relays it appears to be a dead short related to the ASD relay as when the relay is on it causes a fusible link to smoke and all testing points towards a dead short. When the relay is off, it just cranks with no turn but fusible link doesn’t smoke.

fuel pump appears to be working and all grounds appear to be okay from what we can find.

Before we follow the fusible link to trace and find a short. Any ideas where an ASD relay would be attached too? Does anyone have any diagrams?

alternator. Starter. And fuel pump appear to be working fine. It is fuel injected as well.

any thoughts? Thanks in advance !
