Front Rotors/Hubs
Good afternoon,
I'm trying to replace my front rotors on my 1996 Dodge B3500 Class B. I'm fairly sure i have the 4000lb front axle, even though all the stickers on my van say i have the 3600lb front axle (also the original window sticker for the van says 4000lb front axle). when i replaced all my tie rods and suspension components the 3600lb stuff was different and i had to return it and order the 4000lb stuff in order for it to match the existing setup. My guess is when the camper company replaced all the manufacturers stickers they put the wrong axle rating on it. My issue is i cant find the integrated rotor-hub assembly anywhere? i know i have an integrated setup from when i disassembled everything to do the suspension parts, but i can only find rotor hats for a 4000lb front axle on rock auto, and all the parts stores only carry an integrated rotor for a 3600lb axle. Is anyone able to fine a rotor assembly for the 4000lb axle w/ RWAL and 8 lugs? I'm going to look into just getting the rotors turned at a shop, but just in case that's not an option id like to be able to buy new ones.

Another interesting note that adds to my confusion, i have an old receipt from when the previous owner had the rotors replaced, that receipt lists the part number "YH141193" which is a CarQuest part number for what seems to be a hat style rotor not integrated like mine are.
Some 3600 and the 4000 lb. axles use a 2-piece hub and rotor assembly. Meaning, the rotor separates from the hub so that you can replace just the rotor (hat) without having to replace the hub. You have to remove the 8 studs to be able to seperate the hub from the rotor.
Here is a video of the procedure on a Ram pick-up 2500. Although the design of the hub is different, the procedure is the same. This link should start you at the relevant part of the video.

If you prefer to replace the entire hub and rotor assembly, partsgeek.com seems to have them at a decent price.

Ok that makes sense, some of my research told me the hub and rotor were cast together, but that video makes sense and i think mine has the seam where it brakes apart like that, so i imagine its the same type of assembly. also the link to parts geek is only for the 3600lb axles, some research indicates the wheel bearings are a slightly different taper or size between the 3600lb and 4000lb axles. but that outlines my problem with finding the whole assemble, all of the ones i can fins say they only work on the 3600lb axle. I can buy the Hats on Rockauto so that makes sense that its a pressed together assembly with the studs.
