Default Was my issue my shutdown relay?

HI all.
I had a weird issue with my van...

I though my starter had been going out for the past few weeks. It would turn once, then stop for just a quarter of a second, and then it was continue to spin an start...
That was until this morning.
I started the van and drove to Panera. When I came out start my van I had NOTHING...no lights, no power, no gauges...
I opened the hood and I though I heard one of the relays or something near the box/battery sounding like a click...
I checked my connections, water and then banged on the relay box.

The van started fine then...

The weird thing is everything reset in the van - radio/odometer etc....is that was the ASD does when it kicks in?

Thanks all - it was strange

Nope. ASD is not related to your issue. You have a bad connection somewhere, likely at the battery, or PDC. If your battery terminals are 'furry', that's where to start.

nope - clean, tight and no issues till today...

I think the battery may actually be on its way out..I think it is almost 5 years old...It was like I lost a cell...that was my first guess since nothing worked

Battery terminals can "look" fine, and not be..... Even on my little John Deere 210, the terminals looked fine, the cables were new(ish), but, turn the key, you got one click, then nothing at all after that. Pulled the cables, cleaned and reinstalled, and it fired right off....

Happens once in a while......

I have had them so corroded, that there was only a tiny spot making contact.... even though it 'looked' perfectly fine..... But, you would get lites at initial key on, but, try and start? Everything goes away.
