Ok, rather than calling around to junk yards trying to find my exact module I just paid Module Master. Spending at $150, plus $12 return shipping, plus $10 to ship it there, but in theory I should get back a module I know is meant for my van.

I would stick with you part number P52009460AK, keeping in mind the last letter isn't that important, it's basically just a revision number. Meaning, you can use a P52009460AA, P52009460AB, P52009460AC, P52009460AD, P52009460AE, P52009460AF or P52009460AG without any issues. I suspect the main difference between yours and your parents is the 3500 is calibrated to control the brakes by taking in the higher possible weight factor, theirs being a 1-ton and yours a 1/2-ton.

 

Thanks. That makes sense. Regardless, I mailed it out to Module Master yesterday. I called them first as my part number wasn't on their list, though they did show the Kelsey Hayes 125 for my 1500 van. Super friendly. It's more than I was hoping to spend but assuming they fix it then it is probably worth it. The van has been costing a lot lately (not even considering gas). I just had to put a new battery in it last weekend. Shame that Costco has reduced their warranty to 3 years prorated.

 

Ill add something - and I still need to fix this issue, but since my van is used infrequently and the lights dont bother me, so I havent dove in yet...

But - 6 months ago I went to my local watering hole, thank God it is only a mile away, because I got the dreaded NO BUS at midnight, so I walked home that night.
I have a spare cluster, so I took my scooter up there and installed the cluster. There was still no start and NO BUS still showing after the swap.
So tried to scan the PCM and got nothing. I drove down to Ft Lauderdale, where I found a PCM with the same part number, but out of a 3500 and it believe it was a 2002.
My motor is a 2000. I bought it, came home and installed it.
Vroooom - fired right up...no light, no codes....oh wait - about 2 minutes later the BRAKE and ABS lights both illuminated. They were never ever illuminated before NO BUS debacle. I have never had that behavior.
I did some research and I believe that since my PCM is not matched by VIN to my cluster, this is the error that you get. Again - I have no issues with my brake systems at all. They appeared after installing the used PCM.
I will be getting a new PCM (and this reminds me that I need to do this) and then Ill have a spare for emergency purposes. I fully expect when I get the right PCM in there, those lights will go away.

 

Normally VIN programming is not necessary; the PCM should work the same if you do it or don't. But being out of a 3500, I suspect the replacement PCM was for a 4-wheel
ABS system, while your van probably has the 2-wheel RWAL system. Because of that, you might need to go to the dealer to have the correct ABS option program into your PCM.

 

I just ordered a rebuit PCM Ill let you all know what happens...I hope youre right

 

Got a call from Module Master just now and he seems to think that this might not be the right module for this van. It is the right Kelsey Hayes 125 but the part number might not be right. He does think it is off a van but maybe the wrong generation or model.
