RWAL will just have a dump valve, 4WAL will have the motor controller.... and also front wheel speed sensors.
So if I'm rear wheel drive then there are no sensors which means either I have a bad abs module or the rear diff mounted sensor has a wire break somewhere? Doesn't seem like there is anything else left to troubleshoot besides those two items.
If your speedometer works properly, the rear sensor is fine. I don't know if there is a separate controller for abs on yours, it may just be controlled by the PCM......

While similar looking, that one shows it's for a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. If you're looking to replace the controller, definitely get the part number off of your's so you get the correct one.

Yup, I just was trying to show basically what I pulled out and google is incredibly bad about differentiating between b1500 vans and 1500 trucks. From what I can tell, they basically all used the same kelsey hayes controller with 2 different letters at the end of the part number.
Anyway, I just had an idea. An epiphany if you will. My parents have a '98 b3500, 5.9, rear wheel drive. I wonder if I stole their ABS controller whether it is the same as mine and whether that would tell me if mine is bad. God, it's such a pain in the rear to remove it though....
Then again, I've definitely had to hit the brakes in their van and the ABS didn't engage and I went screeching into an intersection (guy ran a red light in front of me). So I don't even know if their ABS is functional despite not having any lights on.
At least you now know what the issue is. Check eBay or here https://www.car-part.com/ for a used one.
Thanks. Car-part actually shows more results than I was expecting. I wonder if there is any difference between years, V6, V8 5.2, V8 5.9, etc. Mine is a P52009460AK while my parents' is a P52009461AE from a '98 b3500 with the 5.9L. It didn't throw any codes in my 2000 b1500 5.2L but who knows. I didn't actually go out and stomp the brakes.
