repair or swap?
ok herre is the delema, i have a 1994 dodge B150. it has a 3.9L V6 MPI in it. it lacks power at less then full throttle. it will idle fine sometimes and other times it will not idle without stumbling, and will stall.
i hAVE DONE:
o2 SENSOR.
I GET 40psi ON THE FUEL RAIL.
vacumme is at 15-20in at ille, and all vaccume looks good.
plugs, wires, rotor, cap, sensor under rotor.
i can fix it or replace it.
i have access to a 1984 dodge 150 truck. it has a carborated 318.
can i just swap this motor in? i know that the truck motor has not computer, so i assume that i could stick it in by just unplugging the wires from my motor.
ok please help.

Before dropping another engine into the B1500, have you checked the engine codes first? You know, the turn of the key three times to an almost start of the engine and then leave the key with the dash cluster and symbol lights on. The check engine will flash a few times to give you codes to tell you what's wrong. Then look up the codes in a Hayes or Chilton book. At AutoZone, they will tell you the code reference for free if you bring the numbers to the store.
Ifthe codes don't work, take it to a garage to get an answer first. It may save you the labor of swaping an engine as well as getting the problems from an older engine type.
IF and it's a BiG if, the 1984 engine is a true 318 drop in, it could work, HOWEVER, sometime in 1994, the 318 (5.2L) went to a magnum engine. Thus, it's not a workable drop in. The earlier 318's are carbs while the later ones are fuel-injected.
just my 2 cents.
