Default B2500 Van - towing problem

Hi guys,

Just picked up a Ram 2500 van with 360 Magnum engine. The van was equipped with an aftermarket tow hitch when I bought it - yesterday I towed my Miata racecar using a U-Haul trailer and the back of the van was REALLY low - the van has 162k miles and I do not know its exact service history with regards to shocks, etc. The trailer and Miata only weigh combined 5000lbs which should be easy for the 2500.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which parts I should look into/replace and in what order? I am having trouble finding replacement leaf springs and parts for the B2500 - are the Ram Pickup parts interchangeable?

Thanks in advance...

Default RE: B2500 Van - towing problem

I have the RoadMaster Active Suspension Springs to boost the B2500 12-passenger van for towing and handling. I would highly recommend the heavy duty kit for the RAM VAN types. The cost was $219 for a pair. These provided better handling when taking corners too. No more leaning like the van is going to tip.

We have a Coachmen Cadet that weights 3,000# dry. Loaded it's over 4,500# along with passengers and gear. The Active Suspension Kit really does the job well for these Dodge vans. Another plus is that standard everyday garage tools as used to install them.

I got the 5.2L (318cid) w/ OD and 3.92 rear.

Hopes this helps some.
