I have a '82 Dodge van. 1st it was the right windshield wiper, & the left one was sporadic. Then the left one died.

I can hear some "clanking", meaning the motor is still spinning.

I just called a Dodge dealership, & the service guy said something about a bushing or a grommet being the culprit.

Can I just buy this part from Parts, & install it myself? Or, should I let the dealer do the repair. ($90 inspection, applied towards repair)

I went to the Autozone, & they had one of those "red multi-packs" with a set of bushings. I had to get 2 packs ($6 per!!), & I replaced the bushings in the wiper linkage. It was a hassle, but I fixed it.
