GM carb on my van?

My 1985 5.9 B350 has a GM carb on it. Ive been having problems starting it and a rough idle when cold. Could the GM carb be causing it?

The carb in question sounds likea Rochester Quadra Jet. You'll need to search the web for detailed information on how to adjustit or replace the idle selenoid.
