I just bought a Superchips for my truck. Now I've only had it a week but I got 1mpg better. If you go on their website, they'll tell you that they program for performance but it's not unusual to see better fuel mileage

I use the superchips Flashpac programmer. It has netted my a 3 mpg increase overall (when I keep my foot out of it)
I noticed it after a long trip
The added benefit to this programmer is you can change the transmission settings: firmer and longer rpmshift points
I tuned my truck for all performance (except for that long trip-I cut certain things back).

Here are a few things you can do to better Mileage: Cold air intake, performance exhaust (doesn't have to be a loud one-just breaths better), Electric cooling fan, Progranmmer, Underdrive pulleys (if available)
The items listed are performance mods but also let the truck breath hence engine works less per given load on the engine-less work less fuel SIMPLE, the electic cooling fan and underdrive pulleys will take less drag on the motor also freeing up power and MPG

Since MPG is on your mind. I noticed a 2-3 MPG difference using good gas over the no name stations. I will explain, For a while I was using the no name brand of gas. It was a few cents cheaper than the Sonoco Brand I use in the cobra (only sonoco93). I noticed My mileage was less than it used to be, so I put the stock air box back ing and tuned theFlashpac to lesser power settings-----It didn'tget betterit got worse.------I put everything back in and started using Sonoco again, All better now

Key message cheapgas is more expensive than Brand nameproducts
When I switched back to the Sonoco gas I got better mileage

Sorry if long winded

Fill in your signature so we know what motor you have. My Smarty netted me around 2.5 mpg hand calculated.

There has been some great feedback from Smarty owners getting a 2-3 mpg increase. The CFM is a great cold air intake. I feel it may be the best product on the market. It is very strong, has the highest flow rate and does not conduct heat or create turbulence like the other products. You will not see a 50 HP increase or a magic ridiculous torque number. What you will see is lower temps, faster spool up and less smoke. All of these contribute to your mpg.

As has been said before, it depends on the truck and the engine. For example, the new 2wd Hemi trucks appear to have issues with broken drive shafts because of the torque increase due to a chip, and all Hemi engines with MDS have auto transmission issues after the mod. Some are worse than others, and yet other people have no issues whatsoever and swear by their chip.
