The darkness of your tint really depends on your state laws. Your best calling a local tint place and getting that info from them. They would know for sure about your state laws since they deal with it every day.

i thought that the rears could be tinted any darkness, its just the fronts and windshield that have the laws on them. I live in New jersey, but the truck is originally from Vermont. Anyone else have any input on this??

The guy who tinted mine said the side rear windows were between 18% and 20%. I had 20% put on the rear window and it is a pretty close match.

I live in GA and the state law limits driver and passenger side windows to 35% I think. They don't regulate the rear windows.

HTH,

Mike

25% on my Rams rear doors. State law for me in the front is 35%. It was close but you could tell the difference.

i'm in jersey and the back windows and rear window can be totally black. the fronts however are now to be factory only. they have totally done away with any permissable tint (other than factory) on the front windows and windshield. a friend of mine is a police officer and told me this. i would check with your local authorities before installing anything whether it is in jersey or not. it is not worht a ticket just for the cool looks. and you defiantely do not need to give anyone any excuse to pull you over. a good scenrio is this: two beers and a sandwich after work on your way home and next thing you know you are blowing in a breathalizer because you were driving a pimped out truck. i dont drink and drive, nor do i condone it, but it makes for a good example. dont start none -wont be none.
this situation sucks too because dodge trucks look soooo sweet tinted out.
