I'm curious if anyone has looked into adding these to their truck or has actually done it.

 

pioneer makes a cd unit that comes with a remote that attaches to your steering wheel. it sounds stupid, but it works really well! a friend of mine has one and it is pretty nice. make sure to get the one that plays mp3's as well. the remote straps around the inside of the steering wheel with supplied rubber straps. it makes for a clean install and is a lot cheaper than buying a new truck that has remotes in the wheel!

 

I guess what I meant to ask was if anyone installed the factory steering wheel audio controls on a truck that did not originally come with them. This is one of the few options I didn't get on my truck due to unavailability and I wish I had them.

 

sorry stephan. although if i understood the question i probably would have posted the same answer. i would be willing to bet that with a steering wheel with remotes, an air bag, horn, etc -it will be a million-dollar project. i would just stretch that arm a little ways! i wish my truck had those controls. my girl's car has steering controls and then when i get in the truck i really miss them. good luck with it if you decide to try and add them.

 

You will need a steering wheel, audio control buttons, a clockspring, and maybe a jumper harness from the column to the CTM. Proabably looking at about 800-1200 to have it installed.
