I just wanted to express my frustation with Dodge's factory air intake system! I bought my '94 ram with 93k miles on it and bought a K&N for it the day I bought it. The intake tube will not stay in the hole in the fender for cool air intake and the airbox itself is a pain in the butt to take off and get my K&N cleaned, you have to take the whole thing off..I just wanted to make sure that everyone else feels the same way or has already replaced theirs....I am really thinking about buying one, but they are a littly too pricy for me!

 

k&n is a waste of money. i have had them for cars and motorcycles. i have a 200 horsepower gsxr 1000 currently and i have spent time on a dyno to find that k&n's are nothing but marketing. if you want measurable horsepower, its going to cost money -period. there are no magic beans. if you want power, you need exhaust and other expensive mods. if they come out with a low cost cool air intake that will fit the truck like the ones they use on import cars, i'll buy one. until then, buy a clean stock replacement and roll. spend the money on a set of husky liners for the interior or something that you will actually appreciate. my truck is a 1997 and i removed the emblems and put the chrome 04 ram 1500 logos on. that is the best mod for the bucks!

 

How does that help me pull my trailer?

 

fitpays thanks for you input...i don't really know how much the k&n makes a difference cuz i bought it after i drove the truck 10 miles...couldn't really tell a difference then...i know just the filter won't help, but the marketing really does work?!
