Help! I have been looking for a front receiver hitch to mount a portable winch, tow hook or even a cargo carrier to. Every site seems to skip over the 2006 1500 4WD SLT Quad Cab. Some have sited that it is due to the air bag. Does anyone know of a quality front 2 hitch?

 

I'd recommend that you contact hidden hitch directly and discuss part number 65046. That is the front hitch for the 2006 2500,3500 trucks, It may work on the 1500 but they are the only ones that can tell you that.

Otherwise, find a local hidden hitch dealer and see if they have one in stock that you can test the placement on your truck.

I have spoken with many dealers just before posting and since and found that the 1500 is skipped. Many are saying that it is due to the air bag. Some have stated they can do nothing in Massachusetts that could knowingly cause a potential problem with the interference of the operation of an air bag.

A winch or cargo carrier will not cause a sudden abrupt force shuch as hitting something but no one in my area will install one.

At this time i am physically unable to do the install myself. Broke my lower back and wrist in a motorcycle acccident.

Look up Ranch Hand Bumers!

 

I put a ranch hand bumper on mine and it is great, and for the air bag's i'm pirty sure they still work, but with that bumper if u hit someone there getting messed up not u. and as u notice it has a reciver hitch on the bumper! great for pulling people out, putting a wich on it, etc.!
