Default Delta Truck Boxes

I have one of those Delta steel truck boxes in the bed of my truck...and I've noticed that it is corroding near the key hole area. making it hard to turn the key in the key hole. The corroding is actually forming a white powder.

Is there any way of stopping this? or is it too late? The truck box is already about a year old.

Thanks,

-Josh

I'm not to familiar with your problem, but it sure sounds like electrolysis.
Just a suggestion, clean the assembly (perhaps baking soda and water) Napa also makes a great product "Aluma Bright". Anyway sounds like aluminum oxide, so get her clean, then just a bit of grease, oil, WD40,....

Or maybe you can purchase a stainless lock cylinder from your local locksmith?
