Default opinion on my new exhaust

i really want to make my truck sound nice and loud. I have priced out some options but i dont really want to spend much money. I originally wanted straight pipes but i cant afford it. Now im thinking of buying a flowmaster 40 muffler and from there put a y piece and make it go right out in front of the right rear tire. Then i would put on two nice chrome tips. This was just an idea and i would really appreciate your opinion and suggestions. Thanks

What year/motor. I put on a flowmaster cat back and it was only $320 to my door from summit! I put it on in my driveway in half an hour. I was getting ridiculous quotes from all the pipe guys in my area.

Is this for a dual outlet or a single outlet. Do you have a part # because that seems like a very reasonable price. I know when I first got my truck and started calling around for quotes, the lowest I got was $375, but that included installation.

Its a dual outlet muffler with tailpipes that exit out behind the rear wheels with stainless tips. If i wanted to i could take off the stainless tips, buy two pipes and run it out under the rear bumper. Its a nice system and the price is great.

Does each side exit behind each wheel or are there two exit pipes behind one wheel?

FLO-17352 is the part number on summitracing.com The kit has two seperate tailpipes, one exiting on each side behind the rear wheel. Personally i like it behind the rear wheels instead of out under the bumper. Adds to the sleeper effect!

Get the Gibson Supertruck exhaust.
Sounds great, loud, and you can bolt it on yourself in about an hour!

Ok, you had the idea of the out the passanger side infront of the rear wheel, I did just that but I didn't really want to pay an extra 50 for another tip so I have one 4" chrome tip out the side, I like it, I would prefer to but I think its good. I got it done at a shop for 175 bucks including muffler, I got a 40 series on ebay for 54 shipped. What I would recommend to do if you are going to do 2 tips is get a dual outlet muffler, becuase I was thinking about that, and they said it would cost some money for them to weld a small Y pipe so it could fit 2 tips, so it would be easier and cheaper to get 2 exiting pipes going to each seperate tip. Thats how the ford lightning exhaust is designed.

I wouldn't recommend you take your own off because I tired and I had to rig up a hanger to hold my tailpipe until I could get a shop to do the exhaust for me, thats just my warning.

If you want to see pics or whatever about my exhaust just PM me. I love it and it sounds amazing the way they did it.

MIke.
