Default Power Chips?

Hello,</P>

I just bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 (Diesel). I have been thinking of putting a power chip in it but all the ones I find cannot be used on 2003 or 2004 models. Does anyone know if I can put a power chip in it? What do you think of putting a power chip in my new truck? Does it ruin the life of it? Will I notice a difference?</P>

Thank you in advance! <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

Default Power Chips?

i was looking into chips when i first bought mine as well, but i dont
think they've been released yet, as dodgefreak let me know a little
while back. hopefully soon though. i had a superchip in my
other car before trade in, it didnt hurt the comp at all, and the hp
didnt really increase, the rev limiter increase wasn't too noticeable
since i had a 5 speed, i could push as hard as i wanted anyways, but
with auto it will show, also, the top speed limit will advance. i
am surprised however, i thought the top speed the comp would allow
would have been around 102 on the new rams, but i got mine up to 115
once, and probably could have gone faster<img src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">. best bet though, get a tuner rather than a chip.

i think that it's superchip, or hypertech, or one of those companies that makes a chip tuner and adds over 100 hp and like 90 ft/lb. of torque. they run around $300 so they arent any cheaper than a chip, but super easy to perform. also, give banks performance a call. they specialize in desiel applications and have some products that provide amazing power gains.</P>

Just a heads up about that chip( JET). I have heard all bad things about the chips. Go for a programer. There are very few if any to choose from for the new hemi. I haveheard it's better to go with the Mopar PCM, and watch out about changing the trucks parameters. Some say the new computer can't be set back to stock and might give warranty issues in the future????. Not for sure about how true all this is but, I thought I'd let you ponder.</P><edited><editID>First Timer</editID><editDate>37992.9021990741</editDate></edited>
