someone PLEASE HELP
I just ordered the edelbrock shortys and and now a buddy of mine said hes got a comp program to calculate hp. Hes telling me that i'll lose power with the headers on because of the way it will flow into the stock y pipe that the presure will just back up and not flow the way it should. Does this sound right to anyone cause it doesnt to me. If so could you explain why?

Thanks,

The only way that I know to accurately determine horsepower gains or losses, is to run a dyno before, and a dyno after the mod. A computer program may give one an indication, but for it to be accurate and be able to compute all possible permutations, would require a Cray Super Computer (the kind used by NASA) just to run the program - seriously it would. I think your buddy is either jealous or full of beans and onions.
I have two older ram's. One 96 5.9 with MP headers, one cat and 3" out to magnaflow muffler with downturns. It also has a free flow hood intake right into the throttle body. It's on ebay right now. Indy ram.

The other is a 98 SST with some other type of headers and kennebell supercharger. The Indy ram will keep right up with the Supercharged ram. I would say get the MP headers. Both trucks with headers areMUCH faster than stock rams.
