Default Alarm and Power Door Lock interface question

Hi All,

I have been looking into adding an aftermarket alarm to my 2001 Ram. I was looking at Crutchfield, and it looks like they have a decent alarm package for 100 bucks (533i). I downloaded the install directions, and I have hit a point where I am confused... I am trying to determine if the door lock system is a 3-wire positive system, or a 5-wire polarity reversing system. Since the swich has 4 wires... it makes it a little hard to say for sure.

It seems to behave more like a 3-wire positive system. But the one thing that has me confused is that the installation instructions say a 3-wire system usually has relays in the ciruit - which I have been unable to locate in looking at schematics from the FSM.

Any body have any input on this?

How about other folks that have put in aftermarket alarms and hooked them up to your power door locks...

Thanks,
Cartman
