I have been challenged by a 97 Richard Petty Dodge Ram. Have a stock 04 hemi....... Anyone know the redline for the Hemi?..... I think I can smoke it.... Any comments????
By the way going to run it on the strip@1/8 mile. The Hemi is just then getting reved up.

 

Redline? It says right on the Tach, why redline? you have no torque or pull at redline, shift in the power band.

 

My tach does not indicate redline! First one I have ever seen that didnt.

What's a Richard Petty Ram?

 

I think I remember reading the redline was around 6200 RPM. Leave it in gear and let it shift, you'll be better off since the PCM will shift it at an optimal time.

The Richard Petty edition Ram was the last body style ram, 94-01, with the LA engine in it. It came with exhaust and maybe some other stuff to improve performance.

Thanks for the straight answer Todd. Was wondering if I was going to get one! The Richard Petty truck is my cousin's who is a car dealer that I work for from time to time. I have been letting the transmission shift in automatic which is 5600rpm. It just seems to be a bit low but, then I don't want to blow it either.
