Hello I was wondering how important this is and if a fairly capable person is able to do this themselves. If anyone had any recommendations/tips on going about this any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you wanting a change in the diff's front and rear?

This could be a very important thing to do. I'd recommend switching all
fluids out to a premium synthetic. Of course you can get them from me.

But I'll save ya money too.

Your gears will thank you for it. They will be quieter, cooler, and have less wear.

how many miles on truck?

Here's what you may be interested in. First thing is to find out what your specs are on your Diffs. Are they Dana 44, 60 ??, Are they standard diffs or Controlled slip. Then we can determine how much , what weights, etc

....... after looking again. The front doesn't matter, they both call
for the same weight. And the rear is a slightly different story, I
think we should find out what you have. I'll talk to tech Monday too.
If you can, see if your dealer can look up your vin and get the info.

I was also doing some research on our Fluids, The standard fluid listed
above (75w90) will work with either standard or controlled slip/limited
slip. However some rearends need additional additive. Usually very
small amounts. Most trucks, if the rear is noisy, ya add some additive.

You have the 5.2 engine which came with the 12 bolt Chrysler 9.25 rear axle. Three quarts of gear lube is plenty. Here is a link on how to do the service. http://www.geocities.com/dak2nv/gears.htmlAlso notice his gear lube of choice.I used the same steps (found on that website) for all three of my axles.
