As everyone probably knows by now, Dodge will refresh their Ram pickups some time in the next year. Some new features include such things as upgraded interior, dash, stereo and air climate controls, new transmissions, new rim/wheel packages, and minor exterior refreshing.</P>


Updating the Ram models will start as soon as January. The new 5.9L Cummins "600" Turbo Diesel I-6 w/ 325 horsepower and 600ft-lbs of torque will be the new optional diesel motor. The engine will have best-in-class horsepower and torque and will be available in all United States and across Canada, unlike the High Output version of the current 5.9L Diesel. The standard 5.9L Cummins will be droped and the HO version now become standard and will meet requirements in all 50 states as of late January. Both can be paired w/ manual or automatic transmissions.

There is word of the 6-speed Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission for the 4.7L and 5.7L HEMI "MAGNUM" V-8 pickups.</P>



Dodge will update the interior of the Ram. It will look very similar to that of the new 2004 Dodge Durango. Gauges will be similar, in layout form only. Also, new seats are said to be coming out which are more comfortible for those long trips. Not much has been said on the possible center console option on Ram models. The updated Rams will also feature another new Chrysler Group feature, new stereo and air climate controls! They will be the same ones used in this years Dodge Durango and next years Dodge Magnum.</P>


Another new cool option that has a good chance of making it to the updated Ram is new keys. These new keys, shown on limited editions of Dodge Grand Caravans are keys, w/ a build in unlock/lock door buttons, as well as panic buttons. No more keyless door lock remote anymore.</P>

I like that instrument panel. Nice info. I hope they make the Ram seats a little more comfy though.

 

I love my seats, but they are very well broken in 94 Ram seats. LOL! Thanks for all the good info Robert!! I can't wait to see what Dodge does next!

i like the cluster, this is good though, these will most likely be
direct fit for all rams from 2002 on if you like to change your own
interior, my guess though.

 

Well I just posted a picture of the Durango gauges so everyone can see what they look like... The Ram gauges will have about the smae layout, I take it... but just the same style of gauges!</P>
