How are you checking your mileage? If you are basing this on the overhead computer, you realize it's not the most accurate instrument known to man. If you reset it frequently, you'll get a more realistic response. However, the best method is to fill the truck and let the pump auto shut off. Don't add any additional fuel. Set the trip odometer to zero it. Drive for a few days, and if at all possible, go back to the same station and the same pump. Refill again and let the pump auto shut off. Don't add any additional fuel. Divide the miles on the trip odometer by the gallons you just purchased, and that'll give you the mpg. You may need to do this several times to get a good average.
I get around 14 mpg in-town and 18 mpg on the highway. This is fairly consistent for me. My Hemi is an '04 Ram 4x4. I run 285/60-18 tires in the summer and 265/17-17 tires in the winter.

I get about 14 highway/city going to work and back. On a highway only trip I got 17mpg with cruise control set at 72. My truck is 2004 hemi/4x4 just hit 2000 miles on it. hoping for a little better once its broken in.
This is funny. the lowest gas mielage i got in my 04 1500 4X4 quad with hemi was 4 mi to the galon. That was on the way to sturgis. I had a bike in the back of the truck and was pulling a 6,000lb+ camper. my rear leaf springs were almost bottomed out. I was stupid, i actually got that rig up to 100mph in south dakota - that was going down hill alittle bit though. I dont tell the chevy and ford guys that part though. by the time that my gas light came on i had about 10 minutes to get to a gas station - i found this out the hard way. On the way back, i wasnt in a big hurry so i kept my cruise set at 65-70 and gas mileage improved to arround 10mpg
Reset your overhead MPG and while your at it reset the mileage too. I record all that stuff Just incase I start to see a trend in decreasing mileage ill know somethings up. Just press the reset button like 4 times and it resets the whole thing
