i have a jet chip right now thatim borrowing from a friends durango while he gets a new tranny put in.</P>


i was looking to get a superchip, but i have heard good things about the mopar chip too.i dont really care about being fast, but i would love to pull my jeep and trailer up hills withouthaving to shift into 3rd gear before i reach the top (5speed BTW)</P>

Mopar doesn't reccomend towing with thier performance PCM, because it keeps the timing near the ragged edge most of the time.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

is the micro tuner (the one they have the group buy on) the best superchip for towing? i seen it had a setting specifically for towing (wich leads me to beleive it would be ok to tow with this unit.)</P>

I had a superchip and sent it back. In my opinion it did very little. In tow mode it just kept the transmission from shifting into OD, which I can do myself. If you read these forums you will see that most people are very happy with theirs but it did nothing for my truck.

Oh no, I just ordered one today and we have the same truck. Did you ever dyno test yours. Did the company give you a problem returning it ?</P>

 

well considering i have a 5 speed you dont think i will notice any difference in towing performance?

 

No problems at all - they were great. All you do is let the unit return everything back to original settings and then send it back. The company checks to see whether you did return to stock settings and then credits your card. Good luck and please post any increases you get. I was mainly working to improve milage and power second but that did not occur. As much good as I read about the superchip I am wondering if my unit was defective.
