Default water pump

How do you remove the cutch fan? I've been try with no luck any suggestions.

rent tools specific for that purpose from an auto parts store. it holds the fan/clutch from moving as you break the bolt loose.

Meh tools DO NOT work, I bought em, and it was a waste of my money... if u need to replace the water pump, then I suggest Jamming a plier in the back so that the pully doesnt move then use a nice big adjustable wrench

This is what I used on the nut.. after 2 weeks of trying to take that sucker off I bought the wrench below, and took it off in 1 minute flat! Just be sure to jab the pully good so it doesnt turn..

Oh and mine u had to turn counter clock-wise (if your standing in the front looking at the tail of the truck)

this response is a little late, but if the fan won't come off, just unbolt the water pump, cut the bypass hose, and pull the water pump, fan, and shround out all at once. then its easy to clamp the wp in a vise and remove it with a big adjustable or channel lock.
