Anyone know how to find the wires for wiring a Brake controller to an 04 RAM that didn't come with the factory tow package? The dealer wired my 7 pin connector and ran the power lead into the cab. So I can find power and ground. But acording to my brake control module directions I need to wire it to the brake light wires. How can I find these?</P>


It seems like if you have the factory tow package with the 7 pin connector they make it real easy by installing an additional connector in the cab to wire your brake to. I guess the dealer doesn't do this.</P>

 

All you have to do is tape the wire at the brake pedal,it's the white/tan wire at the brake pedal. Hope that helps.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

 

You can buy a actual connector that attches to the connector under the dash and to the connector coming off the brake controller. I am calling some of my hitch manufacturers right now to see if i can find one for you. What kind of controller is it?

 

Thanks, I don't have the controller with me. I'll look at it tonight. I can probably follow the wiring as described above if it just warms up here.
