then what were we doing in Afganistan???
Not a whole lot these days. It's just a cover - so the government can claim that they're after terrorists, just look at what we're doing in afghanistan.

I paid $2.39/gal today. Either quit driving, or deal with it. It's still cheaper than milk.

Yeah, but you don't have to buy 26 gallons of milk every week.

So that's it huh? Just because gas is cheaper than milk you'll just sit back and take it? That's what bothers me most about all of this. How high does gas have to get before people finally decide it's unacceptable and try to do something about it? Why not try to stop it now? Even if it doesn't do anything, at least you know that you tried...

Really, as long as the demand grows so will the price. We can debate world politics and national politics all we want, we can sit and complain all we want, but the fact is, until all of us begin using less the price will continue to rise. The unfortunate part is 99.9% of us will contiue not to change our habits and continue using fuel at record rates. Now I agree the oil company profits are at an all time high, but the only way to cut into those profits is for each and everyone of use to use less fuel. Just my opinion.

Ram Job's right. Why don't you protest the price of Cheerio's? I'm pretty sure General Mills or whoever makes it is making a profit, we should get together and do something to keep them from making money.

Why do you feel entitled to cheap gas? Why is it your right to have cheap fuel, which is by all means an optional consumable in our world? Why not write to your elected officials and do something about the ever-increasing taxes on the fuels? It's ok for Uncle Sam to make record profits off the gas, but not for Exxon or BP? While we're at it, why not repeal the alcohol taxes? I don't drink 26 gallons of Wild Turkey a week, but I'm sure there are some people who do, and it's awefully expensive for them.

It's a free market. We're not a communist state, supply and demand dictate prices for our goods. Don't like paying for 26 gallons of gas a week, ride your bike, take the bus, or walk. I don't like driving my Ram all the time because I do get 8-11mpg in it, so I drive a volkswagen and get 30mpg. It's a personal choice.

Right now im paying $1.85 to $1.95 a gallon which i can live with but i am sick of the price jumping all over the place. If its that much now imagine what it will be this summer $2.50 -$3 . If it gets up there the economy is definately going in the toilet. I really feel for the big rig guys who are getting hammered up around $2.40 a gallon for diesel. The government makes it hard enough for these guys to make a buck without high fuel costs

I'm not sure if gas prices have to with the size of a city, but down here in Houston, I paid $1.79/gallon yesterday. But I'm also using 87 octane.

I don't buy it. Why would the economy suffer? Sure, airline tickets, pizza delivery, and possibly grocery and shipping would go up a little to cover the costs, but it's not the end of the world.
