Default Moisture in the headlight

Alright...I would expect to get some moisture in the headlight if there was a rock chip in the lenz. But I have completly inspected the light on my '99 SLT and have found nothing.

I was planning on spending the weekend drying the case out by taking out the bulb and aiming a fan in the direction or the opening. I am just hoping that some moisture got past he o-ring on the bulb and that my luck will hold out on not having to buy a new lenz case. I have since replace both bulbs with brighter units and put some silicoln grease on the new o-rings to help keep a seal. But is is very apparent that it is interfering with the outgoing light pattern.

So any ideas would be helpful. If it is bad then what is the possability of installing the dual bulb 'SPORT' headlight set up. Wiring is a snap to cusomize. A relay or two and some wire...but is the mechanical install easy?

Thanks,

The lense is a 2 piece design and liquid gets in where the pieces join. Look at your headlight where the front half meets the back half. This is where mine leaked from. I used a piece of stiff wire and a small rag to soak up the liquid. I reduced the problem by resealing the pieces with clear silicone.

I figured that was an option. I will give it a try as well this weekend. I still wondering about the 'SPORT' dual headlight idea......anyone....anyone.......??????

Duh, I can't remember what year that is that you have? I have a '99 Sport and have a small amount of condensation in the side markers. My collision repair guy says it's because the bulbs get so hot and then cool off, yada, yada. I live in a humid area and just deal with it, it doesn't interfere with the light pattern, but the two piece Sport look is a good idea. I have what I think you're talking about. If I can ever get the software that goes with the camera working,I may be able to show ya or at least see if that would be a good option .

I have the same problem on my '96 Ram 4X4. My mechanic drilled 3 small holes in the bottom of the headlight assembly, and said it would clear right up. We just did it yesterday, so I'm not sure if it worked yet. I'll keep you posted.
