Can someone tell me what the stock thermostat temp is on a 98 ram? Is it a 160 or 180? Engine is a 5.2..

195 is stock.You can usually run 180 like I do and have no issues

Do you have to reprogram your computer when you do this or not? I'm thinking of doing this also, is it worth the trouble?

I disconnected my battery when I replaced my thermostat anyhow so it would have reprogrammed . Not sure if it needs to be done but I like to disconnect the battery any time I work on the truck.
