Default SUPERCHARGER FOR 03 4.7 NECESSARY?

I AM ONE OF THE GUYS WHO QUICKLY WENT OUT AND GOT AN 03 RAM WITH A 4.7. I LOVE IT, BUT...THINKING I WOULDN'T BE HAULING MUCH, AND KNOWING I WOULD OCCASIONALLY BE DRIVING FROM NJ TO FLA, I FIGURED IT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE. NOW WITH ALL THE HEMI EXPOSURE, I CRAVE REAL POWER. I AM CONSIDERING A SUPERCHARGER, BUT THE COST AND THE WARRANTY PROBLEMS MAKE ME QUESTION MYSELF. IS IT WORTH IT? ARE THERE OTHER POWER POPPERS NOT SO DAMN EXPENSIVE? PLEASE HELP[X(]

I say Supercharge it! But if you decide not to there are other things you can do. My barber has a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the Duramax Diesel and he did something to it and increased the horsepower by 95, I'll ask him what he did if you want me to. They also advertise computers on TV that look like a cd-player and they hook on under your steering wheel column and you can raise the horsepower with that. I've seen them advertise gains of 60HP but I've heard up to 90. With that you can raise it when you are towing and lower it back down to normal when you are driving normally.

Supercharge it!!! Of course you will need the power, who doesnt? I would be wary of any claim of up to 60 HP on a gas engine (with the exception of boost or NOS), most of those do little if anything. Get a CAI (cold air intake) kit first, then exhaust, then s/w. This will provide the most bank for the buck on a limited budget.

I just finished putting my K&N kit on this weekend and love it, not sure what the HP/TQ claims are but it runs much stronger than with the stock setup. This is the 2nd ride that I've put this kit on and found the performance to be very noticable. Some other cheep HP tricks include wraping your fuel rails with heat insulating tape to prevent heat soak during stop & go traffic, and also adding insulation to the heat shield on the CAI to keep the hot engine air out of the air filter area.

The 'charger is also on my list of mods... someday.
