I believe it could go that fast. Why do they limit the trucks anyway? Don't tell me safety, if you hit something going 105 or 120 the outcome will be the same.
my 04 hemi tops out in 4th gear at at around 4000 at 108mph. Once you stop going faster, turn the key like you are trying to start it and hang on as it gains rpms and shifts into 5th and gains some more. The speedometer doesnt work with this. The starter will not engage because the tranny is in gear, so dont worry about your flywheel teeth getting shaved off. I was suprised at the amount of pull mine had at that speed.

the main reason for the limiting is a liability issue. They try to match the top speed with the rating of the tires. War story to go with this. When stationed in germany and the army was selling off their chevys when they were replaced with the hummer, the germans were buying them and wondering why that tires rated for 85mph were blowing out at autobahn speeds. After a few accidents the army would slash the tires as soon as the truck was sold and the new owner had to have a set of new tires availible or a trailer.
