I am so bummed and pissed at myself at the same time.

I was in interstate under construction. It was reduced to one lane.

The cars all started slamming on their breaks and I bumped the car ahead of me and then they hit the 'burban ahead of them.

I was almost stopped, another foot and it would not have been a problem.

Just bent in mt fron bumper. Cracked the rear plastic bumper and dinged the trunk off the grill. I was surprised my grill didn't break..

They took the driver away on a back board and neck brace as precautionary.

I am just waiting to get sued, I can just feel it. After tha accident, the gal was out of her car walking around on her cell phone.

Once she heard the sirens, she got back in her car. The medics showed up and put her on a back board while she was in her car.

I didn't see the need for all of that, but I guess that is how the procedure is...

 

Too bad you don't have video of her walking around talking. Probably on the phone with her lawyer. I usually have a camera in my truck to take pictures if there's ever a wreck, if their car had dents and rust before I want proof that I'm not responsible for all of it.

 

thats rough man, sorry to hear it. i always have a disposable camera in my truck for that very reason, so people dont bull**** the cops and sue you. goodluck with that, hope that lady doesnt try to pull anything

 

if there were people to witness her walking around then it will be a non issue.

had someone do this exact same thing to my mom when she "nudged" (less than 5mph) the car infront of her. no dammage to either car except the bumper was dented on her van. Two months later she got a letter in the mail about a bill for a hospital charge. This lady was walking around just fine, nothing was wrong with her after the accident. But needless to say lawyers got ahold of this and forced her to take new x-rays. the x-rays were never done and all charges were droped

 

Well, if she is/was really hurt, then I don't have any problems with it. It was my fault after all.

But, I am praying that it will not be ugly. Her parents (passengers) were very nice people, but you never know what happens in todays 'sue happy' culture of ours.

Where'd you get the estimate through? Sometime you can ask them to get used parts from a junkyard and it cuts down the costs. I had to do that with my Ranger when I got the door smashed. Also, if you'd looking to upgrade your ride's looks, nows the time, haha.

 

What type of upgrade would there be for the chrome bumper?

 

if the heavy duty steel replacement bumper/grill guard is your style you could do that. or the silver sport bumper, thad look clean with the two tone....[sm=signs007.gif]

 

I have the same chrome bumper as you...

Not sure how the painted sport bumper would look with the chrome grill and bug deflector.

It would probably cost more b/c it would require the cost/labor of painting rather than just bolt on the chrome one.

Used part might work, problem is, if there are scrapped trucks/cars, the front ends are almost always damaged.

 

I just looked up the bumper on getcrashparts.com and they have the it for $260...
