Default Color-matched door handles and mirrors

I am about to get a SRT-10 hood painted and installed on my 2004 Ram and I have been thinking of also painting the door handles and mirrors black also. I am a little cautious of the mirrors because I am a little scared that over time, the paint will chip due to bugs, etc. The handles will get a lot of use of course, but I don't see this as being a problem.

Any pro's or con's to painting these parts that I may be over-looking?

I have seen on e-bay a copmany that has chrome covers for the doorhandles, tailgate handle, mirrors and even chrome headlight shrouds. I am not sure if it is "chromed" plastic like in models or actual chromed metal. If it is metal then you can have a chromer strip off the chrome and then get them powder coated. This is alot of work and mostly $$$. But powder coating can take quite about of abuse. I have it on my harley and it over 3 years old with no nicks. I am currently deployed for the next week. If you cannot fnd te website let me know i have them in my fav places at home.
