It's not that we don't know, but honestly, I've heard nothing bad about it. I don't think any of us have heard a constant complaint... or any complaints for that matter, above and beyond the gas mileage, and no matter what, that's always partly the fault of the driver. LOL!

Let me start by asking, what are you worried about? Have you test driven it?

My friend has this motor in his 02. Great little engine, OK fuel mileage, reliable, runs well. It runs a whole bunch better than the 360's in our group.

 

I test drove a 2004 4.7 and was ready to buy it before a friend of my talked me into test driving the Hemi as well. I ended up loving it and bought is since it wasn't that much extra money. The resale value of the Hemi may be more and it's already paid for itself in terms of bragging rights.

I know this is a little off Hiatham's topic. I guess I was wonder what you thought about the idea of getting the Hemi?

 

I am not sure if you are asking me that question or not, if so..... I bought the hemi if that means anything. The 4.7 is a nice engine but for me I was looking to get a new truck to replace my 2000 ford 5.4, which is excellent vehicle. I was not willing to give up power so the 4.7 and 5.8 were out and I went with the hemi. The 4.7 is sweet for the lighter loads and etc. and gets better mileage though.

Sorry about that. I was referring to Hiatham's question about the pros and cons of the 4.7 and just wanted to toss in my 2 cents about it.

 

thanx yall .... i just got a 2002 4.7 ram 1500..... wonderin if u knew of any flaws.... im not a big engine person yet but im learning.... by the way any one kno if there are sub boxes that fit in a 1500 reg. cab?
