Mine (flowmaster) does have a "cabin drone" at certain RPMs and also varies with load. To me it is not objectionable. Recommend you try and find someone with a system on their truck and go for a ride. My wife hates it, I like it.

95% of the cat-backs or replacement mufflers will have the drone that you are talking about. I guess it's a price to pay for a meaner sounding exhaust. It doesn't bother me that much anymore, but I listen to my music loud.

Now if someone would come out with a true dual exhaust for the '04, life would be good. I want the true duals with an h-pipe design. That would really give it the sound and performance that a Hemi deserves.

Anyone with the new c-b care to record a sampling to post on the forum? Consider it a way to show off how mean your ride really does sound! OR just a way for us folks who are considering getting one to get an idea of what they sound like on your set up. Either inside or out. Can't be picky if you're doing the work.

D@mn you! Now my mind is totally made up. Gotta go get me one!
Guess I'll have to put the mail order bride on lay away. Thanks for the sound byte.

Ram04,
How bad was the installation? Did you have to make any modifications? (Welding of new mounting points, drilling into the frame at all?) Is yours the dual passenger side exit or dual rear?

Easy install (IMO). Took about two hours to get the old exhaust out and the new one installed. Did not use the suppled U-bolt clamps. Lined up everything, tacked it and went back and finish welded. Sprayed the welds with high temp silver paint. Mine exits just behind the L/R rear tire and does not stick out past the fender.

Quick update.
Received my Borla system from Cloud 9 Motorsports this Wednesday via FedEx and had it installed today (Saturday). It's a single side exit system, similar to the OEM exhaust on my '04 Ram 1500 HEMI QC, only much sexier looking. The system hasn't "cured" yet (most exhaust systems harden after 100-200 miles and sound deeper), but NOW it sounds like a HEMI!
There's the expected resonance at 2100 RPM under light load, but at highway speeds it's not objectionable at all. Coming out a toll booth at WOT right up to red line is a beautiful symphony of true American V-8 exhaust note!
I'm very satisfied, both with Borla and Cloud 9 Motorsports.
