I prefer auto so I can enjoy my latte while I drive without having to worry about spilling it, or reaching down to shift.

My '92 had a stick. Pretty fun to drive. Wish I still had that car.

i bought my 02 stang without knowing how to drive stick, i learned off
the lott, and it took a while to figure out, but now that car is gone,
and i got the automatic ram, i definitely miss the 5 speed, its the
only downfall of the truck, i could have gotten it with a stick, but i
would have had to wait a while so they could build it and it
would have been more money.

Well, I have the best of both worlds. I live in Houston so there is really no such thing as "highway" mileage. My Dodge Ram is an auto because that's what I wanted. I also have an '01 Mustang Bullitt. The only transmission offered was a 5 spd manual, but then again, what is a sports car without a manual. If it had come with an auto, I don't think I would have gotten it.

My truck is an auto because the truck I wanted, a 1/2
ton 2wd short bed reg cab v8, it took me 4 months to
find one and it was an auto. My 91 Ranger was a 5
speed and I am really starting to miss my clutch. But
I've still kept an eye out for a 5 speed and still I
haven't found one in a 2wd SWB. I don't hate my
auto as much now but I need a shift kit or a manual
swap someday.

i have a 95 ram thats automatic. i was looking for a standard b/c im a mason subcontractor and ive been known to abuse auto trannys. but an automatic came by that was in great cond. for the price. i am parcel to manuals though
