Hi i have a question dois any one run headers in the newer rams? I am wanting to put headers on my 1999 dodge ram 4x4. My mech told me that i have to make shure that i get headers with the O2 sencer on it my question is if i get a pair of headers can i tap a hole were the o2 sencer should go? The headers with the 02 sencer on it are way to expencive 550.00 to be exact i can get headers from this one place for 225.00 with out the o2 sencer if i tap out a hole and plug my o2 sencer in every thing should be cool right? I am mechanicly retarded so im just asking a question thanks for any help.......

 

Just checked my 2000 5.9 4x4 and the O2 sensor is just above the cat. You should be able to run the Gibson header as a direct bolt in. Take a look @ http://www.gibsonperformance.com/Headers.asp

Steve00ram360 i wish i could go with just plain headers my O2 sencer on my truck is right on the manifold i have a 5.2 magnum

 

You should be able to get a muffler shop to drill a new hole in a cross over or in the pipe just befor the cat and weld in a threaded plug for the O2.

The o2 will work any where as long as its installed before the Cat.

 

Another question is how maney o2 are there on the exhost? and if i run duels will i need o2's on both? If that makes sence........

 

some have 3 ome 2 and some 1...lol

My 96 has two, 1 pre and 1 post cat. Newer Rams I beleive have 2 pre (1 on each side) and 1 post cat.

If you have one on each manafold now you will need two later...if you just have 1 then you can have the existing O2 put on either side.
