Who makes the best cold air induction kit for a 04 ram?
I also had researched alot of CAI's! I have found the AIRRAM to be the best choice for my hemi. At about $225.00 it is 4" ID ,insulated , light weight, and drops down behind the grill to the right of the radiator. It took me 15 minutes to install with little tools. Mpg was an .5 mpg gain (lead foot not included) Of course i still need to change over from my single exhaust for true power and mpg.If I had to do it over agin? I would.
I use the K&N drop-in currently. I'm a bit suspicious when it comes to these HP claims. Does anyone know if any of the manufacturers offer a money back guarantee if their product doesn't make the power they claim. I would love to see that on a product. I have a chassis dyno 15 minutes from the house.
From what I read TrueFlow has some pretty impressive numbers which have been backed up. They use the stock airbox, so they aren't as sexy as the others..
I ordered the drop in K&N air filter from Jeg's. 58 bucks! includes shipping. I haven't recieved it yet, but I am wondering if I should have saved my money and gotten the new CAI from K&N. Will I notice any gains with the drop in?
Yes, you'll notice gains with the drop in. And unless you have a TRUE CAI, (getting air from outside the engine compartment) you won't see a BIG difference...spend any extra bucks on the exhaust or whatever tickles your fancy...
The only way any of these CAI things work is if you combine them with a "TORNADO" airflow modifier and add slick50 fuel system treatment and a box of mothballs to the 103 race fuel.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=lol.gif]
Well I got the chance to looik and drive a 4.7 on the newest Volant CAI today while I visited my doorless Ram at the Body shop. But I can say that Brian got a great thing with the inlet tube(Ram Air) He is running nearly the same set up as me with his quad cab. I can say especially at 40 plus its a noticable difference in airflow. The only thing Brian does not have is the Poweraid TBS and it ran extremely good. Hole lot better than I expected, not a bad choice. I couldn't complain especially driving a Chevy Aveo till next Tuesday.
