Well ok, for everday grocery shopping and light loads the rubber mat is alright, but with a high truck and heavy loads you cant slide on it and it doesnt protect the wheel wells.

I have an '02 that I bought used and had a aftermarket drop-in liner. The truck is 1 year 9 months old. I lifted up the drop-in to see the sratihing underneath. The damage was light(no primer YET!). I also have had the Linex in a previous truck. One time at band-camp, I had a steel wheel break loose in the back and dent the wheel well. The linex cracked off in a 8" circle. It had the lifetime warranty and got it resprayed. Im thinking that if you do any real hauling then maybe I would get sprayed in and then a dropin also(best of both worlds). The sprayon would prevent rsting and such. Even though eventually it would get worn down by the dropin. And the dropin would protect from heavy dents. I have done some hauling and the drop in has saved many a dent from happening. Just my $.02

i got the line-x up over the rails. i couldnt tell much of a weight difference. i'm not sure about much of a price difference but there were a handful of dealers around as oppossed to the other brands (might be a regional thing). definitly a nice addition though

My dealer sprayed my bed before I bought it and gave me a lifetime garuntee against tears and rips and it lifting off. The only problem is if it does any of that I have to drive 60 miles to have it repaired.

Well now repairs can be done and a clear reconditioning coat can be added and the color will closely resemble the original. The spray ins are a bit heavy compared to the drop ins but a worth while investment. You will get back more than you put in on the resale.
