if ur using the metra wiring harness or any other wiring harness, there is a blue wire coming from the store bought harness not the headunits remote but the wiring harness its a antena turn on the wire harness its blue splice into ur red 12+ign wire, on the same harness and voila it should be done, note these are the wires from ur aftermarket wire adapter harness not the aftr market headunit. or run the headunits remote(blue wire that says amp on) wire in to the blue wire antenaa turn on wire harness purchased for the install, both ways the blue wire is on the adapter kit(harness) u bought (if so),u could eether use the truck 12volt igntion wire to the radio or us the new radio remote wire(blue)to ease the install

The factory amp on Infinity unit is built into the Door speakers.

I have seen several posts that say the factory amp in the new body style (2002+) is behind the glove compartment. But, I guess I can't argue with a parts in service manager. Although I will argue with a Ford drvier any day. :&gt

Older Infinity systems did have the amps on each speaker. However, on the new body-style Rams, the amp is behind the glove compartment.

I have an '02 and put on a mono amp for a box behind the seat. I had to use a line level adapter to get from speaker to line level. First I tried behind the player itself vel low level. Then I tapped off of the rear speaker wire on the back wall. And this worked. I would have to go with the amp is behind the glove box.

Default From the '03 Ram Maint. CD

AMPLIFIER
DESCRIPTION

The optional Infinity premium speaker system
includes a separate Infinity audio power amplifier.
The amplifier is a six channel unit and is rated at
240 total output watts. The amplifier is located
behind the glove box.

OPERATION
The power amplifier electronically increases the
frequency response of the normal audio signal output
from the radio amplifier in order to improve the
acoustic performance of the speakers. On vehicles
equipped with an amplifier, the amplifier section of
the radio becomes a pre-amplifier.
The amplifier receives audio signal inputs for
speaker channels from the radio, then sends amplified
audio outputs through six separate channels
with dedicated feed and return circuits to the individual
speakers.
