I have the 4.7 5sp manual tranny as well and have no problem with power. I actually need better grip on my tires!

The thing that caught my eye in your questions was the damage to the 1/4 panel ????

Are you referring to the box side panel perhaps? If so, ok...a "chip" does not require the replacement of the box side.

Maybe a better description or better yet a digital pic of the damaged area would help.

If you think they are ripping you off (possibility) go to a reputable body shop in your area and get a free estimate of repairs.

I think you might be surprised at what you find out.
