Default Question for Dodge Ram Owners

I wanted to findout from other Ram owners who have the 4.6L engine, if they experience any power lag issues. I love my 03 Ram, but some times I have to punch it when say going up hill just to keep up the same speed.

k and n? You also sound like you know what your talking about. I have 1 other question. I have a chip in the paint on the rear of the truck and the body shop is saying that I have to replace the whole quarter panel that it can not be fixed.

I am do for my 30K check and I will ask the dealership about the lag in power. I have the automatic transmission so maybe that is something has to do with it as well. That is what I was thinking about the quarter panel.

K&N FIPK, headers, exhuast system, cams, bigger throttle body, higher numerical gear ratio, ect. This will help you out in getting some power out of that 4.7

I have a 4.7 in an 04 Dakota (Auto Trans) and I notice a lag also, especially if I have the AC on. Its not bad, but noticable, and if I punch the throttle it'll go. Actually, this is a company vehicle and now that I think about it, a few other guys have said the same about their daks. I also have a 4.7 in an 03 1500 but thats a manual trans and I couldnt be happier with the power I get - not to mention that I get much better gas mileage.

Cheap fix for more uphill power... if you have the option turn off OD it really is that simple. Of course if your going high speeds uphill and mean you can't maintain 100 mph then yea do the mod thing.
